- Having completed my SIXTH vagabond trip through the "Southern Cone" countries of South America last month, I confess to being an incurable romantic with a penchant for escaping from the usual to take in whatever comes along the way. Since my first venture into South America in 2002, I have come to love the people, the landscapes, and the cultures of Chile and Argentina almost like a second home.
